The Brand

Based in Amsterdam, Zain Salon & Cosmetics provides cosmetics and make-up services for brides, fashion photography and more. Zain is Arabic for beauty, and its services are mostly focussed on Arab and Moroccan bridal services. Because the name isn't unique, which means there are hundreds of similar companies out there, the design had to stand out from the crowd.

Challenge

The branding was done with future plans for a salon and a line of cosmetic products in mind. Besides the branding, we also shot promotional photography and videos in cooperation with Chique J&B, who provided the dresses, and NINA model agency, who provided the models. A simple black and white palette was chosen as to not be too distracting, complemented with some brown earthy colors, resembling nude skin tones.

Because most of Zain's clients are Arab or Moroccan brides, the make-up is often very bright, colorful and high contrast, so having the logo in black or white creates a perfect balance. It was only natural that the photography be as colorful as the vivid eye shadows and dresses used for the brand launch campaign.
